STC PRIME TIME COURT LOTTERIES
The STC uses the lottery approach for allocating
Prime Time courts when more players are available than courts. Here is a recap
of how the lottery system works.
WEDNESDAY
This is a signup lottery. You must go to the Tennis Center and enter the names of all 4 players (2
if you are playing singles) on the signup sheet if you want to be in the
lottery. The signup sheet is posted on the bulletin board on the Wednesday
morning prior to the Wednesday of play (for example, the signup sheet for
January 11 is posted on January 4). The signup sheet is taken down the next
morning (Thursday) and the results of the lottery are posted on the STC web site that day.
SUNDAY
This is a signup lottery. You must go to the Tennis Center and enter the names of all 4 players (2
if you are playing singles) on the signup sheet if you want to be in the
lottery. The signup sheet is posted on the bulletin board on the Saturday one
week prior to the Sunday of play (for example, the signup sheet for January 15
is posted on January 7). The coordinator will normally post the signup sheet
when the Tennis Center office closes. The signup sheet will be
taken down on the following Monday morning, and the results of the lottery will
be posted on the STC web site that day.
ALL OTHER DAYS
These days are call-in lotteries. You must call the Tennis Center (825-0255) and leave a message indicating
what day and time you want the court. Call-in days and times are:
For a Monday court: 2PM Friday until 6AM Saturday
For a Tuesday court: 2PM Saturday until 6AM Monday
For a Thursday court: 2PM Tuesday until 6AM Wednesday
For a Friday court: 2PM Wednesday until 6AM Thursday
For a Saturday court: 2PM Thursday until 6AM Friday
Note that the start time for call-ins is always 2PM (NOT the time the Tennis
Center office closes, as it was in the past). Also note that courts are no
longer assigned on a first-come first-served basis, so it doesn't matter what
time you call in; all calls have an equal chance in the lottery.
